Linda Ruth Owens

October 14, 1947 - January 11, 2022

Linda Ruth Owens, 74, a lifetime resident of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in Fort Myers. She was born October 14, 1947 in Fort Myers to Chadbourne and Ruth Wiltshire, now deceased. 

Linda was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Fort Myers. She graduated from Averett University with her Associates Degree, she then obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, and completed the Colloquy Program at Concordia University. Linda taught at St. Michael’s Lutheran School for over 30 years and then received a calling and taught at Christ Community Lutheran School for 5 years before retiring.

She is survived by her beloved husband of over 51 years, Martin E. Owens, II of Fort Myers; loving daughter, Kelly Taylor (Kevin) of Fort Myers; sister, Catherine Wiltshire of Fort Myers; nieces, Lindsey and Laney; granddaughter, Olivia Taylor; as well as Noel the dog.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Linda Ruth Owens are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Cir., Fort Myers, FL 33908.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fort Myers, is entrusted with final care.

    Your wife, mother and grandmother had a heart of gold. She had such a positive touch on the many students she taught over the years. I will treasure our time together at St. Michael. May you feel the comfort of our Lord’s embrace during this difficult time. 💕

    One of my favorite teachers from St. Michaels. I was lucky enough to have her in kindergarten and 3rd grade. Prayers to all of the family.

    I was lucky enough to have had Mrs. Owens as a teacher and mentor while attending St. Michael’s Lutheran in the 70’s. I’m sending prayers of peace to her family and may she Rest In Peace.
