Lloyd J. Socky, 75, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 30 years, formerly ofMcDill Airforce Base, Tampa, Florida passedaway Friday, October 20, 2017 in Cape Coral. He was born September 2, 1942 in Fort Sill, OK to Frank and Madge Socky, now deceased.

Lloyd was a decorated US Army Lieutenant Colonel who servedtwo tours in Vietnam. He graduated from The University of Tampa with a Bachelor’s degree and also received a Master’s degree in business from Syracuse University. After 25 years of service he retired, and he was the President of Carrol Oil Co in Ft Myers. He was a Motorcycle enthusiast and an avid Hunter andoutdoorsman, a German board certified Jagermeister. In full retirement,he was a past president of the Cape Coral Seahawks model airplane club. He also enjoyed trying new recipes in the kitchen and on the grill. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He alwaysgave his family a lot of love and support. He will be missed tremendously.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Susannaand Mikeof Smithfield, VA; a brother, FredSocky of Columbia, SC; a niece, Jennifer Young and a nephew, Stephan Socky; a grandson, Michael E. McCullen and a granddaughter, Breanna Shostak; as well as a great granddaughter, Sophia Kristine McCullen.

Funeral Services will be held5:30 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017at Mullins Memorial,3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916with Chaplain Pedruska officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 30, 2017 at Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC.
