Luis M. Figueroa Colon

March 5, 1943 - April 21, 2019

Luis Manuel Figueroa Colon, 76, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Cape Coral after a long & courageous battle against cancer. He was born March 5, 1943 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to Antonio and Angelita Figueroa, now deceased.

Luis (Also known as Gui) was an extraordinary Puerto Rican US Army Soldier, government worker, husband, father & son. He devoted his life to his family with no reserve. Don Luis was a passionately dedicated coffee farmer, who loved meditating & being outdoors. He will always be remembered for his welcoming, friendly & humble personality. Known for his optimism & warmth, he was always found smiling & happy, no matter what! His son Martin considers him the world strongest man or the ‘Puerto Rican Superman’. ‘Figueroa’, as his loving wife calls him, was a great example to anyone: He lived life fully, in-touch with His creator & had outmost respect for ALL of God’s creation, particularly others. Luis’ legacy will continue on within each of the hearts of his loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 43 years, Ilia Betsaida Vega Rivera of North Fort Myers; two loving children, Luis Manuel Figueroa Vega (Priscilla) of Washington, DC and Martin Figueroa Vega (Lina) of Cape Coral; as well as four grandchildren.
