Margaret R Dunham
Margaret R. Dunham, 73, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1996, formerly of Medford, NY, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Fort Myers. She was born November 3, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Anne Asselta, now deceased.
Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She kept her family close to her heart. She talked proudly about them often.She had many friends who she considered family;She worked for the Internal Revenue for several years. She also worked as a bus attendant for handicapped children.Her favorite job of all was volunteering once a month for the Patchogue Medford Special Education School Board. She was the parent on the board who made sure special education children got the education that they required. She loved doing this job and took it very seriously. She was there for the children but she also enjoyed doing it. When she moved to Florida she volunteered at Health Park Nursing and Rehab until her sight no longer allowed her to do so. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by four loving children, Thomas Dunham (Maureen) of Patchogue, NY, Dawn Dunham of Fort Myers, James Dunham (Debbie) of Medford, NY and William Dunham (Cindy) of Cape Coral, FL; daughter-in-law, Michelle Dunham of Cape Coral; brother, Frank Asselta, Jr.(Candy) of Rocky Point, NY; 13 grandchildren; as well as three great grandchildren
Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter, Annemarie Dunham; as well as her son, John Dunham.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5632 Sunrise Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
