Mark T. O’Laughlin
Mark Thomas O’Laughlin, 59, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2009, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born September 27, 1958 the son of Frederick and Rachel O’Laughlin, now deceased. He was raised in northern Indiana and later moved to Texas and California.
Mark was an active member of First Christian Church in Cape Coral, FL, where he was involved in hospitality ministries (shut-in, hospital, and nursing home visitation as well as a card outreach), and was affiliated with First Assembly’s homeless ministry, known as Feed My Sheep. Mark maintained onging contact with other area church families, including Calvary Baptist Church, Victory Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Matlacha.
Mark will be remembered for his Christian testimony, personal warmth, caring spirit, bright smile, and large hugs. He remains one of the “stars that shine brightly in the firmament” (Daniel 17:3).
He is survived by his fiancé, Georgia Gould of Cape Coral, FL; four loving sisters, Frances McCarthy (Charles) of Bartlesville, OK, Elizabeth Steinfort (James) of Boise, ID, Deborah O’Laughlin-Bernard of Cape Coral, FL and Shirley Suhr (Neil) of Aurora, CO; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church, 2620 Country Club Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904 with Dr. Kreuger officiating.
