Mary Lou “Teddy” Proctor Beard

Mary Lou “Teddy” Proctor Beard, 90, a resident of Shell Point Village in Fort Myers, FL for the past eight years, formerly of Kansas City and Hermann, MO, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in Fort Myers. She was born January 29, 1928 in Coffeyville, KS to David and Lucile Proctor, now deceased.

Teddy was of the Christian faith. She was an accomplished violinist and played regularly until recently, including at Shell Point’s Village Church with dear friend Randy Woods. Teddy was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a major in music. Teddy’s generous hospitality always included a warm welcome and something special from her kitchen. She delighted in her career as a wife and mother.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Beard of Fort Myers; three loving children, Patty Love (Phil) of Kansas City, MO, Nancy Van Hoozer (Tom) of Kansas City, MO and Mindy Mesler (Scott) of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Tom, Lisa, Kailey, and Alison; as well as eleven great grandchildren, Mallory, Jimmy, Henry, Charlie, Addison, Hannah, Cecily, Vivian, Charlie, Alivia,

A celebration of life will be held in Kansas City at a later date.
