Mary M. Robinson

Mary Margaret McCormick Robinson, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida, formally Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on July 19, 2019 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida. Mary was born on April 4, 1928 in Richmond County, the daughter of the late Samuel Oscar McCormick and Ada Roseann Maness McCormick. She was an active member of Sharon Baptist Church until she moved to Fort Myers, FL in 2015. She was a devout Christian and prayed daily. Mary was faithful and always looked for the best in others. She was a strong and independent woman, with such a sweet smile. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters and was a classy lady. She loved a good party and enjoyed dancing. Mary loved her family always said each child is special in their own way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her best friend and the love of her life, Clyde, of 51 years; sisters, Elsie McCormick Poston, Margie McCormick, Lillie McCormick Taylor, Jean McCormick Davis, Doris McCormick Paul, and brother, Sammy McCormick.

Mary is survived by a family who she dearly loved; children, Sandra and Davy Crockett of Fort Myers, FL; Pam and Randy Reese of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren, Casey and Chad Burtch of Key West, FL, Jonathan and Leanna Crockett of Clemmons, NC; Richard and Heather Cashwell of Indian Trail, NC; Lindsay Reese and Trey Reese, both of Wake Forest; great grandchildren, Raelynn Crockett and Collins Crockett, both of Clemmons; Alyssa Cashwell of Indian Trail, and Wyatt Reese of Wake Forest; sister-in-law, Mary Foreman Vuncannon of Ellerbe, NC; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved dearly.

Celebration of Mary’s life will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Sharon Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC with Dr. Robert Page officiating. Family will receive family and friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 6411 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 or Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
