Mary Rose Baraley
Mary Rose Baraley, passed away on September 17, 2022 in Cape Coral, FL. Mary was a resident of Vancleave, MS for the last two years, formally of Jensen Beach, FL and Ft. Myers, FL. Mary was born October 30, 1932 in Palmyra, MI to Jim and Helen Baraley.
In February of 1951, Mary married Eldred Miller and from that union three children were born, Antoinette (Toni), Michele, and Eldred (Gene). Many years later, Mary met the love of her life, Frankie Piazza. Mary was an avid golfer, played in Greece, the pyramids of Egypt and in China. She loved to cook and, in her life, owned four restaurants, Big Al’s, Little Mary’s Kitchen, Morning Glory, and Island Kitchen. She was a great conversationalist, but she was a better mom, grandma, Grannie, Grummy, Nanna, Little Nanna, and Grandma Shorty. She never met anyone she didn’t consider a friend or family and while sometimes she told us things that we didn’t want to hear, she always told us the truth and said it with love. Mary was a dedicated member of the Moose where she help cook in the kitchen and held several offices. Mary was also a member of the American Legion. To know her was to love her infectious smile and little witty comments. She will forever be known for these statements, “I’m Delicate” and “God gave it all to me” Many knew her as Little Mary but if you caught her on one of her more humorous days she may have introduced herself as “Henrietta Kumquat”.
Mary is survived by two loving children, Eldred “Gene” Miller II (Laura) of Vancleave, MS, and Michele Miller (Tom) of Okeechobee, FL; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; as well as nine great great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Helen; as well as one daughter, Antoinette (Toni).
