Melisia Dawn Schaeffer, 38, a resident of West Virginia for the past 10 years, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 while visiting friends in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born October 28, 1979 in Baltimore MD.

Melisia was a loving mother and grandmother, she was an amazing beautiful strong woman who loved everyone. She loved to travel, and she has worked in the health care industry and loved working in the fast food industry as a waitress and bartender. Melisia grew up in Eldersburg, Maryland and she was loved by many throughout many different states. She had so many people that loved her that it is impossible to count. Melisia had three children who lit up her world, she was an amazing mother. She loved going to the beach and overall, she loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Melisia herself was such an outgoing person who lit up the room with her beautiful smile as soon as she walked in. She made everyone laugh and feel comfortable. She will forever be missed, and she will forever be loved.
There will never be another Melisia “MISSY” Schaeffer to walk this earth! If love could have saved you, you would have lived FOREVER!

She is survived by her loving father, James Douglas Schaeffer of Spring Lake North Carolina; loving children, Sadie Schaeffer of Hedgesville, WV and Connor James Coward of Eldersburg, MD; six siblings, April Schaeffer, Troy Schaeffer, Shane Schaeffer, Allen Schaeffer, John Schaeffer,
and Daniel Schaeffer; granddaughter, Presley Carr; as well as a large and loving extended family.

Melisia was preceded in death by her son, Jason Major Coward in 2014; as well as her mother, Erma Jean Schaeffer of 2017.

There will be a private memorial for close friends and family. Melisia was loved by many people, if anyone would like to reach out please contact Sadie.
