Mellissia “Missy” Mary Madden

November 29, 1971 - June 23, 2021

Mellissia Mary Madden, 49, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL for the past five years, formerly of Cape May, NJ, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in North Fort Myers. She was born November 29, 1971 in Akron, OH.

Mellissia was of the Christian faith. She loved fishing, camping, swimming, country music (especially Garth Brooks), but she loved family and friends above all else. She would help anyone, any way should could. She loved all five of her kids and four grandkids unconditionally. She always had the biggest smile when she was with family. If anyone knew Missy, they would know she was a tiny feisty lady and a strong woman, we all really found out how strong the last six years of her life. She didn’t let her diagnosis slow her down. She really lived her life to the fullest everyday. Missy may have left us, but her lesson “Fight till the end” will live on for years to come!

She is survived by her loving mother, Carole Madden of North Fort Myers, FL; children, Amanda Leary (Daniel) of Birdsboro, PA, Brandon Madden of Birdsboro, PA, Tiffany Trivett (Christopher) of North Fort Myers, FL, Kayla Pyawasay of Dennis Township, NJ, and Jason Breakell Jr. of Dennis Township, NJ; siblings, Christina Gley (Paul) of Cape Coral, FL, Erich Madden (Grace) of Cape Coral, FL, and Jason Madden (Heather) of Cape Coral, FL; as well as four grandchildren, Madalynn Clark, Brennan Spassatempo, Jacob Leary, and Autumn Spassatempo.

My heart breaks for your family who fought this battle with you to the end. We were so blessed to be able to share this journey of courageous strength, passion for life and family, Six long years of never giving up, even to the end. I read, Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength, sounds à lot like You my friend. Love you Missy, Until we meet again. 🕊️
