Michael Barrett McIver
Michael Barrett McIver, 71, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Hope Hospice Cape Coral after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike was born May 5, 1950 in Baltimore, MD to Bruce “Mac” and Audrey McIver, now deceased. The family moved to Fort Myers a few months later.
Mike grew up playing baseball and football and graduated with the Class of 1968 from Fort Myers High School. After earning his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, he went on to earn his J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1977 and was admitted to The Florida Bar.
Mike was a faithful Christian and a Deacon at First Baptist Church for many years. He had a passion for golf, made many friends on the golf course and played as long as he was able to. He loved his Florida Gators. He was a partner at Aloia, Dudley, Roosa, Sutton, McIver and Burandt for many years. He was a member of the Edison Pageant of Light.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Living in the Fort Myers area most of his life, he kept in touch with many friends he made over the years, especially enjoying meeting with the “Wednesday Breakfast Club.”
He is survived by four loving children, Kelly McIver Planthaber (Johnathan) of Cape Coral, Barrett McIver (Rosie) of Fort Myers, Emily McIver of Fort Myers, and Tyler McIver (Rebecca) of Cape Coral; four siblings, William McIver (Sheryl) of Cape Coral, Bruce McIver (Linda) of Talking Rock, GA, Katherine McIver Hunt (Jeff) of Alva, FL and Robert McIver (Donna) of Cape Coral; as well as six grandchildren, Michael Ferrando, Madelyn Planthaber, Zackary McIver, Macy Planthaber, Brooklyn Alvarado and Samantha McIver.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 21,2021, at The Colonial Chapel at Fort Myers Christian School., 1550 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Michael Barrett McIver may be made to the charity of your choice.

Our hearts have been with the family since Mike fell ill. He fought his illness with hope and dignity and set an example of faith for all of us. He was known and loved by many people, and he will surely be missed. Hopefully the sweet memories of Mike will bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.

Mike was a great person and friend to many. He always made himself available to help anyone in need and always had good ideas to solve problems for other people. He had a great laugh and always had a great story to tell! We were all blessed by his life . He will be missed by all of us!
