Michael Joseph Schroeder

June 25, 1961 - March 10, 2022

Michael Joseph Schroeder, 60, a resident of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, died at home on Thursday, March 10, 2022.  He was born June 25, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gator, as he was known to many, waged a long hard battle with cancer, even “Ringing the Bell” at his Oncologists office when first beating it in 2021. He fought on and lived his life as well as he could. He was happy and joyful even when he didn’t feel well.

Mike was larger than life. He worked as a Cement Finisher in Local # 527 out of St. Louis, Missouri for many years through many cold winters.

Michael was a practicing Catholic, and attended St. Vincent de Paul Church in Fort Myers, Florida. He found a great deal of comfort through his faith.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, Ernie and Claire Schroeder of Alva, Florida; his son, Michael Schroeder (Susan) of Spring Hill, Florida; as well as siblings, Lynn Snodgrass (Donald) of Steelville, Missouri, Connie Sanders (David) of Ft. Denaud, Florida, Don Schroeder of North Fort Myers, Florida, Carter Schroeder (Jennifer) of Alva, Florida, and Parker (Maria) Schroeder of Fort Myers, Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann in 2019.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Mullins Memorial Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916. There will be a funeral service immediately following. Memories and Stories to be shared.

There is no need for flowers. Mike didn’t want a big to do, but just friends gathering and celebrating his life.  He LOVED LIFE, and all his friends and relatives, especially his son and the time he finally got to spend with him and Susan.  Most of all he found the Love of Jesus Christ and he was happy and content.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fort Myers, is entrusted with final care.

Can’t remember the year I was asked about praying for Mike regarding his original diagnosis of cancer. My husband and pastor added him to a 4am daily prayer time. Mike had made it through to testify his love of Jesus when we met him at a celebration last year. He truly was excited about his faith and life. No doubt angels where singing at his journey home to the Lord. God bless this loving family
