Michael Notorangelo, Sr.

December 29, 1951 - March 10, 2022

Michael Notorangelo, Sr., 70, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Ferguson, Missouri, passed away peacefully the week of March 7, 2022 from natural causes in sunny Southwest Florida.

He is still a son, big brother, little brother, Dad, Papski, Uncle Mike, Grandpa Noto, and Pop Pop Duke to those who still walk this earth. He graduated from McBride High School in 1970 and was an active member of their alumni group for many years. He had a 20-year career at Federal Express. He called the family homestead in Ferguson, MO home for over 50 years. His hobbies included boating and bonfires with many friends and family; Captain Mike always brought us back safely. He was an outstanding father until the end who always enjoyed 18 holes of golf with Michael, Jr. and many weekend hours boating on the Mississippi River. He also recently helped Nicole complete a master’s level course in Spanish to help her earn an additional certification. He was an avid reader who proofread essays for her as well. He also spent many of his retirement years caring for his father in Cape Coral/Ferguson. He served his family and taught us well. Mike always did things his way. He is already missed, but we know that he is rocking out on the other side to his extensive vinyl collection of Neil Young, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendricks, Janis Joplin, Rolling Stones (the Sticky Fingers album) with his expensive speakers and a cold drink.

He is survived by the immediate family of Phyllis Notorangelo, Michael Notorangelo, Jr. (Sophie), Nicole Vinson (Joshua); grandchildren, Marguerite, Avery, and Cotton; sisters, Toni (Robert), Marge (Greg), Susan (Lon), Beth (Skip); as well as his dog Duke.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Marguerite (Bieler) Notorangelo.

A celebration of life will be held in Ferguson, Missouri at a later date.

I was a classmate of Nute at McBride. Great fun guy. Have fond memories of playing hockey with him on asphalt parking lots. He loved that game and was a big hacker with his fiberglass stick blade. RIP to this good-hearted man.
