Monica Anne Cooper

May 4, 1972 - February 8, 2022

Monica Anne Cooper, 49, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 29 years, formerly of Naugatuck CT, passed away quietly in her sleep Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Cape Coral. She was born May 4, 1972 in Houston, TX.

Monica was an adventurous and creative spirit. She was born in Houston, TX, and spent most of her childhood in Tucson, AZ. She attended primary school in Oahu, HI, and her middle/high school years in Naugatuck, CT. She arrived in Florida in 1993 and celebrated her 21st birthday by going skydiving. Soon after, the decision was made to settle down and put roots in Cape Coral, FL. One of her favorite pastimes was enjoying the beach, along with her passion for cooking. Monica loved to create new cuisines for her boys, who were her pride and joy. She was a kind, warm, and a very compassionate woman that made her the brightest light in the room. She was very supportive and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She may not have been the healthiest, and although she had shattered both her ankles in a car accident years back, she still worked hard, and would walk and ride buses around town to get where she needed to be. She loved spending time with family and bringing joy to others is what made her happy. Going to her mother’s to hang out for dinner or even staying home to have a movie night with her boys were right up her alley. No matter how many times she was told to sit and relax, she always needed to be up, cleaning something around the house, or making sure everyone’s relaxed before she was herself. She would jam out with her headphones while cleaning, even randomly breaking out into song and dance. Her taste in music was absolutely bizarre; one day she might’ve been listening to Down With The Sickness by Distrurbed, another day it could be the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and if it was a weekend you might’ve caught her listening to Kodak Black and Hotboii. She loved the music and times she grew up with, but she also welcomed and enjoyed the music taste her sons enjoyed listening to. She had many interests, and kept herself busy by reading, painting, drawing, jewelry making, wood burning, gardening, hairstyling and nail art. She was genuinely beautiful, from the inside out. Monica will always be remembered and forever missed by all those who loved her.

Monica is survived by her loving mother, Mary Kulikowski of Cape Coral, FL; her two loving sons, Joseph Gonsalves and Kain Cooper, both of Cape Coral; as well as four siblings, Diane Munoz of Cape Coral, Frank Kulikowki of Cape Coral, Ulysses Garcia of Tucson, AZ, and Hercules Garcia of Tucson, AZ.

Monica was preceded in death by a sister, Ursula Garcia.

The family is choosing to remember her spirit in a celebration of life ceremony. It will take place on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the family residence. The celebration will start at 1pm and the service will begin at 2pm.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
