Nicholas Walter Moreback

August 21, 1943 - October 7, 2020

Nicholas Walter Moreback, 77, a resident f Cape Coral, FL for the past 27 years, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Cape Coral. He was born August 21, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles and Rose Moreback, now deceased.

Nicholas was of the Catholic faith and served in the United States Army.  Prior to his illness he was an avid tennis player, loved boating, motorcycle riding and dancing and of course his pets.  He had an Associates degree in criminal science and was a New York City police officer for 22 years. He served his country in the army and was in Vietnam for two years where he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart with oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal and the National Defense service medal. He also assisted many veterans in obtaining the benefits they were entitled to.  

He was a devoted husband and a kind, compassionate caring person, he will be missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Moreback of Cape Coral; two loving children, Nicholas Moreback (Leeann) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Michael Moreback (Kathy) of Long Island, NY; three siblings, Monica Rizza of NY, Rosemary Belardo of Long Island, NY, and Robert Moreback (Barbara) of Levittown, NY; as well as two grandchildren, Mave Moreback and Jack Moreback.

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Pastor Mike Carter officiating.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Nicholas Walter Moreback are suggested to The Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

    Hope you can remember the good times with Nick,

    I guess things happen for a reason, I am not religious but maybe a higher power had that reason..

    From friends and neighbors…..
    A 12” X12”. Engraved brick paver has been commissioned as a special memorial to Nick. The engraved paver will highlight his Military and Law Enforcement careers, and his love of family.
    When completed, the paver will be set in the Army section of the Cape Coral Veteran’s Midpoint Memorial, located in the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve at the East end of SE 23rd Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33990, for all to visit. Completion is expected within 2 months.

    Dear Linda,
    I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure Nick will always be with you – the love of his life.
    Keep those great memories close. We all have memories of Nick – quite the character always.
    Wish I could be at his memorial but due to Covid and restrictions, not able to be there. I will be there in spirit and will pray for Nick.

    nick and I were very close friends during junior high school and his family were very nice and took me with them camping summerrs at north lake and many family occasions. to rose charlie porky chicken junior and bobby i send my condolessins and the entire moreback family which i loved always
