Paul L. Vogel

Paul Leo Vogel, 74, a resident of Lee County, Fl since 1969, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 in Fort Myers, FL, succumbing to his 11 year battle with Leukemia. He was born April 10, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA to Douglas and Aurelia Vogel, now deceased.

Paul was of the Catholic faith and was a devoted friend of Bill W.’s for 28 years. He was known and loved throughout Ft Myers, Cape Coral and beyond. He was a man of few wants or needs. A loving husband, father and a friend to all he met. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of dedication. He spent his last 28 years helping many on a road of recovery through the 12 steps of A.A.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Susanne “Sue” Vogel of North Fort Myers, FL; three loving children, James Vogel (Cynthia) of St. James City, FL, Jackie Vogel (Tom Greene) of North Fort Myers, and Paul R. Vogel (Cheryl) of NE; five grandchildren, Brock, Justin, Timothy, Peter and Stephen; brother in law, Thomas Kanell of North Fort Myers; several nieces and nephews; as well as Ava, the dog.

Paul was preceded in death by three siblings, Patricia, Vincent, and William.

Memorial Services will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Cape Alliance Church, 4307 Skyline Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33914.
