Raymond Edwin Parry, Jr.

October 22, 1941 - May 17, 2020

Raymond Parry, Jr. 78, passed away on May 17. 2020 in Fort Myers, FL For the last several years, he has resided at Pacific Senior Living-Fort Myers. FL.

Raymond leaves behind a sister, Ellen Tresch; a brother, Michael Parry; as well as nieces, Linda (Jim) Wanhala, Chris (Dave) Demmin and Laurie Tresch.

He is predeceased by his father, Raymond E. Parry and mother, Virginia L. Parry. Also deceased, is his wife, Linda Hoeh Parry.

Raymond had a storied 20 year carrier in the US Air Force. He was a flight engineer on and C141 cargo plane and a traveled all over the world. He later worked in Club management and lived and worked in places such as Japan, Germany, Spain and Greece.

Ray was famous for always having a story about his many escapades.

Most notably, during the Vietnam War, Ray was at Da Nang airport during the bombing there. Years later, during the Cold War, he took part in a secret mission that flew into Russia to help an American who needed a blood transfusion. The story called “Russian Blood” was written about in the Readers Digest. As an honor, Ray received the “Air force Commendation Medal” for his participation in this mission.

After his retirement, Ray managed a Red Lobster restaurant in Milwaukee, WI where he met and married his wife, Linda Hoeh. Later he worked in the used printing equipment business, working closely with his brother Mike. After moving to Florida for a time, he and Linda eventually went to live in Tennessee. After Linda passed away, Ray went back to Florida.

We will all greatly miss he gregarious nature, his stories and sense of humor.

    You will be missed gpa Ray by mom and I so very much, wish someone could’ve let me know something sooner😭 but we love you so very much and missed u every day while away… Love Cindy Edwards and her mom Connie Armstrong your daughter Robbie’s sister.

    I miss you Dad,you’ll never know how much I loved you,and I know you would be proud that Connie Lynn is with me here at my house it took a long time to make this reunion between us ,but we are finally togeather. I just wonder if anyone else in our family remembers that he did have 2 daughters that were left behind also,since our names weren’t mentioned……..me and Connie love you Dad.and we know you loved us too.
