Richard A. Unger

August 4, 1946 - November 26, 2018

Richard Andrew Unger, 72, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 20 years, formerly of Grapevine, TX, and Kendall, NY, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 in Cape Coral. He was born August 4, 1946 in Brockport, NY to Myron and Mary Unger, now deceased.

Richard was a Veteran of The United States Marines. He received the Purple Heart medal for his service and was honorably discharged in 1967.

He is survived by one loving daughter, Michelle Schwartzman (Neil) of Coral Springs, FL; four siblings, Marilee Leverenz of Hamlin, NY, Barbara Vaughan (Larry) of Brockport, NY, Raymond, Unger of Brockport, NY and Ronald Unger of Albuquerque, NM; as well as a grandson, Jacob Schwartzman. His beloved black lab, Jewel, will reside with Michelle, Neil and Jacob.

Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Unger.

No formal services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will take place in Hamlin, New York in the summer of 2019.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Richard Andrew Unger are suggested to the Humane Society of the United States.
