Richard Mark Brothers

January 2, 1950 - November 28, 2020

Richard Mark Brothers, 70, a native of Mobile, Alabama and resident of Lee County, FL for the past ten years, and formerly of Kissimmee, FL, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born January 2, 1950 in Mobile, AL to Mark and Beatrice Brothers, now deceased.

Richard was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Richard was proud to have served his country in the Vietnam War.  He was also an avid fisherman and a licensed USCG 100-ton Master Captain. He loved his family and was especially proud of his son, Neal and his family.  If you were a friend of Rick’s, you had a friend for life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dena Duncil of Cape Coral; loving son, Neal Brothers (Tara) of Summerville, SC; three siblings, Mike Brothers (Jan) of Ozello, FL, Judy Brothers of Gainesville, GA and Susan Brothers of Fairhope, AL; as well as three grandchildren, Annabelle Salvo, Tyler Brothers, and Levi Brothers, and many nieces and cousin s.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Richard Mark Brothers are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or the New Testament Baptist Church, 2805 NE Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33909.

    Rick was a wonderful friend and made our move to Florida a very enjoyable experience. He was definitely one of kind who will be greatly missed.
