Robert Charles Gardner

May 30, 1969 - May 17, 2021

Robert Charles Gardner, born May 30, 1969, passed away May 17, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Myers. Robert was of the Christian faith.

When Robert was younger, he loved spending time on the water. He received his first boat by the time he was a teenager and loved fishing in it with his friends. Robert was a graduate of Fort Myers High School, where he was a proud member of the football team. His favorite NFL team was the Jaguars. He also had an enthusiasm for bowling, which led him to open The Bowling Pro Shop at Gator Lanes. He was known to have scored many perfect games while competing in league tournaments. Robert’s favorite past time was joking and telling stories while having a beer with his friends.

He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Gardner of Lehigh Acres; Fiancée Susan Wehner of Fort Myers; Cousin Glinda Ludlow of Alva, and a large and loving group of friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Roy Gardner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Ter-Tini’s, 1901 Crystal Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33907.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the ALS Foundation at www.als.org, 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209.

    I remember Rob from the time he was a baby until adulthood. He was the cutest child with a smile that would light up a room. My children and Rob had a lot of fun playing. Rob was my cousin but I felt more like an aunt. Rob I love you and I treasure the times our families had together. RIP
