Robert G.H. Peer, Jr.

August 27, 1936 - November 14, 2021

Robert G.H. Peer, Jr., of Newport, Michigan and a seasonal resident of Fort Myers, FL for 25 years passed away in Fort Myers, FL surrounded by his family on November 14, 2021.

The first born of seven children to Robert G.H. Peer, Sr. and Viola Louise (Johnson) Peer. He was born August 27, 1936 in River Rouge, MI. Bob married the love of his life, Lucy D. (Airhart) Peer in Los Angeles, CA on April 27th, 1957 after serving in the United States Marine Corps.

From this union came the birth of four children: Cheri, Robert GH Peer, III who died shortly after birth, Glenn and Earl. He was a proud Operating Engineer in Local 324 before retiring. He is remembered by his family as a loving father and hard worker. Bob and his wife were proud lifetime members of Swan Boat Club where they enjoyed the regattas with friends on Lake Erie. Besides boating he also enjoyed golf, bowling, visiting casinos and happy hour at Sun-N-Fun.

His passing was preceded by his wife, Lucy; his parents; his son, Robert G.H. Peer, III; his brothers, Gerald, Charles, and Edward.

He is survived by his loving children, Cheri M. Miller (Keith) of Fenton, MI, Glenn H. Peer, Sr. (Rita) of Monroe, MI and Earl Peer (Sandy) of Monroe, MI; siblings, Samuel Peer of Lake City, MI, Richard Peer of Newport, MI, and Joy-el Duvall of Newport, MI; grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Glenn, Jr., Dannielle, Tadd, and Dalton; as well as great grandchildren, August, Burton, Joseph, Carter, Tadd, Charlie, Madison, Mia, Emma, and Ella.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Michigan Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at Swan Boat Club. Details to be announced in Spring of 2022.

 Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fort Myers, is entrusted with final care.

    We were so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We have many great memories of having Bob and Lucy as neighbors and how they so often made us feel part of your family. We will be forever grateful for those days and our time hanging out with all of you as well!
