Robert Walter Jacques

September 10, 1935 - June 11, 2017

Robert Walter Jacques, 81, resident of Cape Coral, Florida for the past eight years formerly of Bayville, N.J and Vernon, N.J. passed away on June 11, 2017 in Ft. Myers, Florida.

He was born September 10, 1935 in Mount Vernon, NY to Walter and Dorthea Jacques, now deceased.

Robert was a United States Navy Veteran during The Korean Conflict.

He worked in waste water management for OMI/CH2M Hill in the city of Hoboken, N.J before retiring at age 70. He was also part of The Kuwait Emergency Response Team after the first Gulf War.

Roberts love for public service had him volunteering in numerous organizations including Boy Scouts of America where he obtained the highly coveted wood badge honor. He was a former president of The Vernon Township Rotary Club in 1988/89, as well as Knights of Columbus, Toms River, NJ and Cape Coral, Florida where he was a fourth degree Knight. He was also part of the City of Cape Coral Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Cape Coral Police Department.

Survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Patricia Jacques; seven children, Jeananne Jacques, Roberta Garrison, Robert P. Jacques, Christopher Jacques, Andre Jacques, Christopher Ritchie, and Jeffrey Ritchie;six siblings, Joyce Millo, Walter Jacques, Linda Brown, Estella Miller, Diane Brown and Richard Jackson; as well as Annie and Jimmie the cats.

Robert was predeceased in death by his son Glenn Michael Ritchie.
