Ronald Gale Waggoner, 66, of Fort Myers, FL, previously a resident of Cape Coral, FL and Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Lehigh Acres, FL after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born July 31, 1954 in Hammond, IN to Millard and Betty Jean Waggoner, now deceased.

Ronald was of the Baptist faith, having served at Daniels Road Baptist Church, in Fort Myers, and Coral Ridge Baptist Church, in Cape Coral. He was veteran of the Army National Guard, having served for ten years in field artillery, demolitions, and as a cook.  He loved the military and was devoted to his country. He was a member of the American Legion as well. He was a man of many trades throughout his life, from working at the steel Mills in Indiana to driving a truck delivering furniture, he always tried his best to help where he could. He was devoted to God and trusted in him. He loved listening to music like rock and roll and country. His favorites were ballads from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, as well as religious hymns. He liked bowling, and football, having played on his high school football team. He also enjoyed watching trivia games and would often quiz people with things he’d learn from them. While life was often unkind to him, he still managed to find humor in life’s up and downs, and would often help his family through tough times with his sense of humor. He loved his family and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cecelia Waggoner; three loving children, Ronald Joseph Waggoner (Brandy) of Nashville, TN, Ella M. Haley (Phil) of Gloucester, VA and Elizabeth Waggoner of Cape Coral, FL; two brothers, Robert Waggoner (Doree) of Fort Myers, FL and Michael Waggoner (Jamie) of Schereville, IN as well as one grandson, Ronald Nicholas Waggoner.
