Sirlene P. Duarte

Sirlene P. Duarte, 74, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of South Chicago Heights, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was born February 3, 1941 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Joao Peleteiro Soares and Cessira Bessan, now deceased.

Sirlene attended St. Andrews Catholic Church in Cape Coral. She was a former member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in IL. Sirlene was devoted to her family and friends. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her loved ones and being in the company of children. She held fond memories of caring for Dillon, Logan, Tori, Trevor, Thomas and E.J. in the years that she ran an in-home daycare. An avid nature lover, she enjoyed watching the birds in her backyard as well as tending to her trees and flowers. She had a generous spirit and kind heart. She will be forever missed by all those who were blessed enough to have known her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Eduardo C. Duarte, of Cape Coral; three children, Marlene Duarte (Thad Krider) of Cape Coral, Marilyn Pealy of Cape Coral and Melissa Caputo (Kevin) of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren, Wesley, Harry, Teddy, Taryn, Cody, Trinity, Tabatha, and Corinna; four great grandchildren, Damian, Noah, Mia and Owen; sister, Marlene Baum and in Crete, IL, as well as numerous brothers and sisters in Brazil.

Sirlene was preceded in death by two siblings, a nephew and brother-in-law.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
