    POPPI,
I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN FOR THANKING YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME. YOU NEVER MISSED A GAME DURING MY FOOTBALL CAREER, WHETHER FLYING TO ARIZONA OR DRIVING TO WEST VIRGINIA EVERY WEEKEND, I THANK YOU. IT MEANT THE WORLD TO ME. I NEVER, NOR ANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBER, EVER WENT WITHOUT, GROWING UP OR EVEN AFTER WE GREW UP AND MOVED OUT. YOU ALWAYS HAD AN OPEN DOOR POLICY FOR THOSE WHO NEEDED A HOME WHETHER IMMEDIATE FAMILY OR NOT. YOU SHOWED THE FAMILY THAT HARD WORK WILL PAY OFF AND GAVE US A TRAIT THAT WE WOULD CARRY ON FOR LIFE. DAD YOU BUSTED YOUR ASS YOUR WHOLE LIFE AND WE HAD FOOD ON THE TABLE AND A ROOF OVER OUR HEADS THANK YOU.. I WILL FOREVER REMEMBER THE TRIPS TO DERBY…OH MY GOD. YOU WOULD BET THE MOST SCREWED UP NUMBERS AND TURN AND ASK DID I HAVE THAT HORSE. ME AND MOM WOULD SAY YES AND YOU WOULD SAY SHIT ITS THE ONLY HORSE THAT I LEFT OUT. I WOULD JUST SHAKE MY HEAD AND GO GET ANOTHER MINT JULEP!!!!!!! TO THOSE WHO KNEW YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU GAVE AND TOUCHED THEIR LIVES.. DAD YOU ALWAYS HELPED WHETHER YOU AND MOM HAD THE MEANS OR NOT YOU FOUND A WAY TO PROVIDE PERIOD..NOW TO THE FUNNY SHIT. I REMEMBER YOU USE TO MAKE SOME GOOD STUFF UP. IF YOU HAD DONE HALF OF WHAT YOU MADE UP MIKEY, SCOTTY AND I FIGURED THAT IT WOULD OF MADE YOU AT LEAST 110 YEARS OLD. LOL.. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS AND WHEN I CAME BY AND DRANK A BEER WITH YOU. YOU SLEPT VERY WELL THAT NIGHT POPPI. I WILL MISS YOU POPPI AND AS YOUR WITH MAMA LOOKING DOWN I HOPE I MAKE YALL PROUD. BECAUSE OF YOU I AM WHO I AM TODAY AND CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH.. SO POPPI YOU WENT TO MAMA IT WAS YOUR TIME AND YOU GAVE IT ONE HELL OF FIGHT. SHIT, AT ONE POINT I THOUGHT YOU HAD 9 LIVES.. YOUR DOGS ARE IN GOOD HANDS BELIEVE ME!!!! DAD I LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU AGAIN. I KNOW YOUR WALKING AGAIN AND SPREADING YOUR WINGS.. I WILL SEE YOU AND MOM AGAIN ONE DAY AND KNOW YOU BOTH WILL BE WAITING!!!!!! I MADE IT THOUGH WITHOUT SAYING THE F WORD HOLY SHIT. TILL WE ARE ALL TOGETHER AGAIN I ASK YOU TO WATCH OVER US. RIP POPPI YOU ARE HOME WITH MAMA. BUT YOU’RE TRULY MISSED YOU STUBBORN PRICK LOL. Oh Poppi,
How much I adore and will miss you goes without saying. I’m your ‘Peanut’ and you’re my FAVORITE father-in-law!! I know you’ll get that one, and maybe look over at Annie Bananie, Grandad and Grandmom and toast us all as Grandad grins and says ‘Bump ‘er off’.
Some of the fondest memories of my life were at Festival in Cloverport and the Derby. They will forever remain unmatched, and forever close to my heart.
Much love to you, the others we love and have lost and to all of us here missing you.
