Tina S. Newhouse

Tina Sherise Newhouse, 51, a born and raised native of Palatka, FL was found deceased on July 31, 2018 in her North Fort Myers home.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Phillips of Interlachen; three loving children, Kenneth Vinson (Stacy) of Palatka, Christana Proctor (Paul) of Palm Coast, and Steven Beverly (Gabby) of Florahome; two sisters, Billie Jo Phillips-Smith (Russell) of Cape Coral, and Pennie Proctor of Palatka; as well as five grandchildren. Sherry has also left behind numerous other loved ones, family and friends alike.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, William “Billy” Phillips, her paternal grandparents, Minnie Boyette and Charles Phillips, and her maternal grandparents Essie Mae and Crawford Tucker.

As Palatka High School graduate, Class of 1985, she was eager to jump straight into the workforce. While she spent most of her life working as a waitress in local restaurants such as The Clock and Huddle House, she was happiest spending time with her kids, grandkids, and all the family. Holidays, birthdays, reunions, and any other reason to get together was her number one priority. When she could get out fishing- you could find her at the end of an old cane pole.

A portion of her remains will stay with the family, and per her requests a portion will be spread over the ocean.

The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of New Beginnings Baptist Fellowship on 915 South Moody Road, Palatka, FL 32178. A Meal and Family Visitation will take place immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. All family and friends are invited to share in this time of celebration and remembrance.
