I got to meet Bart when I was a student at Marquette University after becoming friend with Brian. I don’t have any particular story about Bart that sticks out but I remember always having great smiles with him. He was laid back and always had a smile for me which as a young kid was amazing. We will miss you Bart!

We enjoyed Bart as a great neighbor and friend! We got to see him in his happy place-on his boat, on the river. He enjoyed time with family and was good with our kids as well.
He was also very instrumental in helping us in various stages of the addition to our home as well. He was a wealth of information and “knew people” in the right places. He has meant so much to our family over the years. He will be truly missed!

When Bart moved down to Florida, we would attempt to get him and Becky together with us during his visits to MN.  Sometimes this was over his birthday week- and us neighbors would celebrate all of our June birthdays together.  He was  a joker and his smile was infectious!

As parents of Nick Nierenhausen, we have gotten to know Bart and Becky over the last few years. My best memory of Bart looking so proud as he walked Laura down the aisle at her wedding in the sands of Hawaii. It was a beautiful day none of us who were there will forget. Our deepest sympathies.

I have fond memories of Bart from Camp Hope, NJ, our church camp, where I believe Becky and Bart first met. We were lucky to have Becky, Bart, Laura and Brian live near us in PA in the early years of Becky and Bart’s marriage. Sorry to hear of Bart’s passing.

I’m saddened to hear this news. My ex and I went down to Fort Myers, FL in spring of 2018. Stayed with Becky and Bart for a couple nights in Cape Coral. Bart was one of the nicest, friendliest, and hospitable people I’ve met. He certainly enjoyed his southern sweet tea chicken and a specific Key Lime pie! My prayers go out to the Porter family. He will be missed!

Bart Porter was a constant fixture on the sidelines across all the years of youth soccer for us as kids. He always had such a recognizable voice, even in the middle of a full sprint, you still had no issues hearing when Mr Porter was giving the ref some advice, cheering the team on, or even giving Brian some much needed coaching tips!!!

From the pre-teen years all the way to college and beyond, I am so appreciative of the consistent support and kindness that Bart Porter shared with me and I know with so many others as well.

We were able to spend an evening with Bart, Becky, Brian and Kristen at the Comedy Club in Madison many years ago. I will never forget how distinctive and boisterous Bart laughed from the back of the club. So much laughter.

Bart will always be remembered as a kind and thoughtful friend to us both in Florida and Minnesota. He was always willing to check on our house and boat in Florida, when we were away. He took of any problems, and would send pictures of the fruit trees or things that were amiss so that everything was taken care of.
We hope his family finds comfort in remembering the kind and thoughtful man that he was.

I remember when Scott and I worked for Bart (late 80s) while we were in high school. Bart always had a job for us cleaning up construction sites or one of his boats. He was a great guy and I considered him a friend. Bart had a nice way as an adult when we were kids, of making us feel important. He had a good ear and was happy to offer advice. I’m sorry to miss the celebration of life.

Deepest condolences to all of the family.

Bart was always ready to lend a hand to help anyone. His presence throughout the “soccer years” was always appreciated. He loved all the kids and was a kind and generous man. The world is a bit sadder now that he has left us. He certainly left footprints on many people’s lives.

My favorite memory is from many years ago when we all lived on Ridge Drive in Lititz. Bart and Bob were teenagers and would wrestle on the front lawn. We had a miniature schnauzer who didn’t like it and would rush across the street and nip at whoever was on top to stop the “violence.”

We had dinner with Bart a few years ago here in Florida. It was so great to catch up after many years.

Our sympathy to Becky and all the family. He was a wonderful young man and a loss to all who knew him.

Lots of great memories with Bart. Summers at our Nana’s ‘house at the shore’ in Ocean City NJ, endless days and weeks playing in the waves and sand; many attempts to dig a hole to China with clam shells, only to find we hit water about two feet down!; tobogganing down Porter’s hill in Lancaster PA; and my parents and I spending two great weeks with Bart in Florida in 2018. He was a good man with a heart of gold, a dear cousin whose calls and texts on our birthdays and holidays will be greatly missed. Love you Bart…
