Willard J. Lucas, Jr.

Willard James Lucas, Jr., 71, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1987, formerly of Temple, TX, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was born April 28, 1947 in Fort Monroe, VA to Willard and Mary Lucas, Sr., now deceased.

Willard was a member of First Christian Church. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army and went on to attend the University of Alabama, where he obtained his Master’s Degree. Since moving to FL in 1987, he has worked for Lee Health System and retired in 2017. Willard loved his family and was an avid fan of the Crimson Tide football team.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Julie Lucas of Cape Coral; three loving children, Kristin Alton (Dwayne) of Cape Coral, Kari Erwin (Alex) of Chattanooga, TN, and Keli Lucas of Mesa, AZ; seven siblings, Hulda Lucas of Youngstown, FL, Diane Watson (Tommy) of Ashford, AL, Mike Lucas (Brenda) of Chattanooga, TN, Patrick Lucas (Patty) of Atlanta, GA, Paula Raymond (Kenny) of Chattanooga, TN, Ruthie Copeland (John) of Chattanooga, TN, and Jamie Brent (Joe) of Wadsworth, TX; three grandchildren, Kayla, Presleigh and Maxton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Willard was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 27, 2018 at First Christian Church, 2620 Country Club Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904 with Dr. Keith Krueger officiating.

Committal Services with Military Honors will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
