William “Bill” Brian Fasbender

August 1, 1961 - January 14, 2020

William “Bill” Brian Fasbender, 58, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past ten years, passed away peacefully and at home after a year long battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in Cape Coral. He was born August 1, 1961 in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Bill was raised on the family dairy farm in Cornell, Wisconsin and after high school attended the Eau Claire Technical School for Carpentry. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and drive and held all sorts of outdoor jobs throughout his life which led to his perpetual tan. He was a bridge builder, owned a snow plow business, and owned a construction company. He most recently owned and operated a lawn service business in Cape Coral. His passion was carpentry and was great at building and fixing things. He enjoyed football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and loved traveling, golfing, and hunting. He was the consummate storyteller and teacher, whether it be with his family, employees, friends, or grandchildren. Bill gave the BEST hugs and his smile lit up the room. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a funny remark.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of over 12 years, Kris Fasbender (Scherbarth) of Cape Coral; loving mother, Nancy Fasbender (Olmstead) of Cornell, WI; three loving children, Rosie Holt (Richard) of Valdosta, GA, Samantha Lee (Seth) of Billings, MT, and Nick Fasbender (Alyssa) of Eau Claire, WI; stepchildren, Jessica Boie (Jason) of Cottage Grove, MN, and Jason Mannin (Ashley) of Virginia Beach, VA; five siblings, Eileen Scott (Steve) of Arden Hills, MN, Tony Fasbender (Michelle) of Holcombe, WI, Ron Fasbender (Patty) of Reed City, MI, Dan Fasbender of Cornell, WI, and Mike Fasbender (Trisha) of Princeton, MN; twelve grandchildren, Connor, Sophia, Easton, Hunter, William, Lucas, Thomas, Rylee, Ryan, Ryder, Preston, and Wesley; as well as in laws, and many nieces and nephews.

I am so sorry to hear or his battle with cancer and the news of his passing. I knew Bill for only about 6 months but tried to keep in contact over the years. I worked for him as a painter for his construction company sometime around 2008. After I guaduated college the job market was pretty crappy and Bill took a chance on my skills and ability. He was always very positive and had a kind demeanor. After reading his obituary I am sad to say I missed out on his stoytelling as our relationship was all business but his example of entrepreneurship and hard working spirit has helped me in my career. I reached out to him a couple of years back to reconnect and maybe hire him for some work on my first home purchase. This was when I learned he moved to Fl. Again I am so sorry for your family’s loss, he was a great man.

We are so honored to have been a part of Bill’s life. Kris and Bill were mealtime mentors at The New Beginnings and we were privileged to see how God used this loving couple in the lives of our single mothers and their children. Bill had a special connection with the kids and they loved him as we all did. May he Rest In Peace with Jesus.
