William “Bill” Thomas Zdarko

December 28, 1951 - April 15, 2022

William “Bill” Thomas Zdarko, 70, a resident of Lee County, FL since 2001, formerly of Erie, PA, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 in Cape Coral. He was born December 28, 1951 in Titusville, PA to Joseph and Mary Zdarko, now deceased.

Bill was a member St Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. His career path led him to be an MP the Army, being a Police Officer in NJ, and later to own a Country Fair store in Erie, PA.  Upon moving to FL, he retired from Lowe’s.  He was always witty with fun jokes.  His nieces and nephews refer to him as ‘Uncle Snack’, as he always supplied the family cottage with numerous snacks for all!  Every year, he and Joanne would vacation at the family cottage, “The Lake”, and attend our yearly family reunions at the Zdarko “Turkey Farm”.  He was very proud of his grandchildren, Mallory and Ryan, and bragged about them constantly.  He was a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather, who was very loved by everyone.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nine years (giving them more than 30 years together), Joanne Zdarko of Cape Coral; loving children, Tina Zdarko of Cape Coral, Bill Zdarko of Cape Coral,and grandchildren, Mallory and her husband, Jesse Hicks, and Ryan Getty; step-children, Jennifer Beauchamp (Julio) of Cape Coral,  and Matthew Magalhaes of Girard, PA,and step-grandchildren Kaylee, Emma, and Bela Beauchamp; siblings, Barbara “Zephyr” Bergera (Nick) of CA, Joseph Zdarko (Candy) of Port Charlotte, FL, Damien Zdarko (Andy) of Shippenville, PA, and Fred Zdarko of Titusville, PA; brother in law, Calvin Marsh of Pleasantville, PA; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends; as well as Dusty the dog.

Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Miller and Pauline Marsh as well as his sister-in-law Julie Zdarko and his step-grandson, Dylan Beauchamp.

Cremation burial will be at St Catharine’s Cemetery, 12231 PA-8, Titusville, PA 16354, on July 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd S., Cape Coral, FL 33904 on September 19, 2022 at 9:00 am.

    I had the pleasure of working with Bill at Lowes for many years. A kind man with a great sense of humor and always willing to help people out in any way possible. He will be greatly missed.

    I just heard of Bill’s passing!! My condolences and prayers to his family and friends. Bill was a stand up guy for as long as I knew him. Rest In Peace Bill!! 🙏
