Harriet M. Fernstrom

Mrs. Harriet Marie Fernstrom of North Fort Myers, Florida entered into the Kingdom of the Lord on October 3, 2018.

Harriet was born on April 2, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Stanislaw and Filomena Lorek, who both emigrated from Poland in the 1920’s. She was the youngest of four daughters.
In addition to being a caring mother, Harriet worked at Waterway Estates and Povia-Ballantine. She then worked for Lee County Clerk of Court and retired after 21 years of service. She logged in more than 3500 volunteer hours with Lee Memorial Health System.

Harriet is preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, Jean, Sylvia and Mildred; husband, Morris “Morrie” Fernstrom; daughter, Jean and grandson, Kyle Fernstrom.

She is survived by daughters Marie Keast (Rich Keast), Bonnie Eckman (Lon Eckman); sons Carl Fernstrom (Lene Fernstrom), Rick Fernstrom (Dawn Fernstrom); granddaughter Heather Border (Jay Border); grandson Christopher Fernstrom and great grandsons Jackson & Harrison Border and dearest friend, Carroll Copping.

With her family at her side, she departed for Heaven Wednesday, October 3, 2018, fourteen years to the day from the passing of her husband of 58 years, Morris.

She was a cherished and loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and mentor to many. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Villas Wesleyan Church, 8400 Beacon Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-5858, with Pastor Terry Hunter officiating.
