Joan M. Peters

It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Joan Marcia Peters our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend on December 20, 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Joan moved to Fort Myers in 2003 from Erie, Pa. Joan loved life. Her passions included spending time with her family, ballroom dancing, gardening, crafting, golfing, shuffle boarding, Mah Jongg, decorating, including her golf cart for the holidays, and creating and wearing Derby hats.

Joan is survived by her loving daughters Mary Kay Peters and Kathryn “Kokey” Fedison and her husband John and his children Abbey and Maggie. Her brother Larry Witkowski and his wife Mary Therese, two nephews Craig Witkowski and his wife Donna and Eric Witkowski. In addition, her companion and dance partner, Ernie Cerra along with aunts, cousins, and friends in Erie, Pa and the Jamaica Bay Community in Fort Myers, Fl.

Joan was preceded in death by Don Przybyszewski and Dwayne Wilson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice at 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 7, 2018 in Fort Myers, FL. Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven cemetery in Erie, Pa.
