Chansen William Savakinus

January 3, 2001 - April 6, 2024

Chansen William Savakinus, 23, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL and a lifelong resident of Florida, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Fort Myers, FL. He was born January 3, 2001, in Cape Coral, FL.

Chansen was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Coral. He was a fighter; a champion and an inspiration to everyone that he touched. He battled cancer three times from the age of six and through all the journey he was a beacon of positivity, hope, and strength. He became a strong speaker and advocate in the fight against childhood cancer, helping to build hospitals, raise awareness, and openly supporting pioneers in the medical fight against rare cancer.

Chansen attended Oasis Charter Schools in Cape Coral Florida and graduated from Coral Glades High School in Coral Springs, Florida. He was a sponge for information with a talent for sharing his wide knowledge base in a way that captivated people.  He was wise beyond his years and extremely compassionate, embracing a unique understanding of life. He was not afraid to be quirky, corny, or different. He was relatable. It was this trait that endeared him to so many and allowed him to impart his perspective on life.  He was a teacher at heart with dreams of one day becoming a history professor or museum curator.  Though his health curbed him from finishing college to pursue that career he still achieved being an educator. The lessons he taught were resiliency, giving, and acceptance that reached far beyond the walls of any classroom.  People surrounding him throughout his life were better for every minute he shared.

Chansen was an old soul at heart, but his young soul will be with us forever.

He is survived by his loving mother, Destiny Haggett and stepfather, Bill of Alpharetta, GA; His younger siblings; Sister Hudson Haggett and Brothers, Colton Savakinus, Carson Savakinus-Haggett, and Graham Haggett, and his adoring grandparents, Mark and Susan Smith.

He is also survived by his father, Brian Savakinus, and stepmother Sarah Lawson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Uncle, Jason Savakinus.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27th, 2024, at Oasis Charter School in Cape Coral Florida. Details, here.
