Robert Christian Mast

May 26, 1919 - June 27, 2018

Robert C. Mast, 99, a resident of Ft. Myers, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Ft. Myers. He was born May 26, 1919 in New Lenox, IL to Clarence and Mabel (Bechstein) Mast, now deceased.

Bob graduated from the University of Illinois and then joined the advertising staff of the Chicago Tribune eventually representing it from Chicago’s “Back to the Yards” district to Madison Avenue in New York City. He briefly published a New England daily before returning to New York where he established a national marketing firm. He served as a combat crew member in the Army Air Corp in the African and European theatres during WWII.

He is survived by his son, James A. Mast of Manitowoc, WI; granddaughter, Amy Ella Basken and her husband Brian of Prairie Du Sac, WI; as well as three great grandchildren, Matthew, Ella Marie and Nicholas.

Services will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.

No services will be held in Florida.

    Bob Mast and my dad, Steve Mattana, together with Vic Salce, all served with honor in the Army Air Force during WWII. We are very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Our condolences. Christine and my mom Carol Mattana
