Robert William Eden

October 12, 1952 - September 10, 2021

Robert “Bob” William Eden left this earthly plane to be with his Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021. He was 68 years old.

Bob was born on October 12, 1952 in Valdosta, GA, the third son of John “Fred” Frederick Eden III and Julia Merle “Dixie” (Stewart) Eden. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Journalism. Bob dedicated his life to making the world a better place, writing countless grants to support non-profit organizations and fighting for those without a voice, especially the homeless and children with disabilities. His most recent project was Artful Gardens Autistic and Special Needs Learning Farm in Ft. Myers, FL.

When he wasn’t working, Bob could be found in his home church, Zechariah 4 Ministries in Fort Myers, FL, always willing to share his time, energy and skills with anyone who could use a helping hand. Bob never met a stranger and was full of incredible joy and an unmatched zest for life. He gave the very best hugs, was an enthusiastic and often hilarious storyteller, and never missed an opportunity to throw a Frisbee. He loved his family and he loved Jesus.

He is survived by two sons, Ramsey H. Eden and Preston S. Eden; brothers, John F. Eden IV, Stewart R. Eden, and Eugene “Gene” D. Eden; sister, Linda Merle Eden Sparks; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Fred and his mother, Dixie.

The family is planning a memorial service in Claxton, GA. Details to be announced.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Robert “Bob” William Eden are suggested to Enlightened Education Co-op, 558 Charwood Ave S, Lehigh Acres, FL 33974.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

I shared a roof with Bob most of his last two years. We drove to Chicago together to meet my brother and family. We became very close as we worked together on Enlighten Education Co-op. I know he is still pulling for us on the other side. We had lots of laughs and nary a discouraging word. I miss you brother.

Robert was a true gentleman, I had the pleasure of working with him and the Non profit, Enlighten Education. I know he is with his Jesus whom he loved more than anything, he was the most kind, gentleman, yet powerful for his love of the word. Until we meet again, I will be listening closely to hear your beautiful voice letting me know what is going on up in Heaven.

Met him when he came up to visit Bill Stewart my brother in-law. He was a talker for sure. I worked with folks who were disabled all my life so I loved hearing about his most recent project. Thoroughly enjoyed him and his positive energy. My heart is with all of you and am so glad I had a chance to spend time with. He was a good soul💞

The last time I saw Bob was at the airport here in Oslo. Like old friends we were still laughing and talking about life until he boarded. One of my best friends all time! I will miss him greatly. My most sincere condolences to all of his family.

I met Bob in the 9th grade in Claxton, GA. I was a start up basketball player and boy did I fall into the right group of brothers to learn the game. It seems like we spent every afternoon in the Eden driveway playing the game. When we moved away after the 10th grade, I owed him so much for what I learned from him about basketball but my regret is that I only had been able to see him one time in all these years

I was talking with a friend of mine in Blairsville, GA and told him that I had lived in Claxton. he said his best friend in college was from Claxton, do you know Bob Eden? I almost fell our of my chair and replied, my best friend in Claxton was Bob Eden and he almost fell out of his chair.

I will and always will treasure the memories of one of my best friends in life: Bob Eden.

Please, someone let me know when the memorial service will be, I will be there.

Bob was a good friend of my family. We really loved him. He was a barrel of laughs. He made trips to the lake house with us and helped my son learn how to ski. We’ll never forget him and miss him very much. Looking forward to seeing him in heaven in the sweet by and by.
