Theresa Janet Eck

Theresa Janet Eck, 81, a resident of Cape Coral, Fl, formerly of Clearwater, FL and Oak Lawn, IL passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Cape Coral with her daughter Rita by her side. She was born April 8, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Michael and Vera Hazel, now deceased.

Theresa was of the Christian Faith and lived a life searching and studying the Word of God, always looking for its truth and meaning. Our Heavenly Father was her strength; she always prayed for guidance and thanked Him for all things. Theresa or Teri as she liked to be called, was a caring and warm-hearted mother, grandmother, and friend. Complete strangers gravitated towards her kind spirit and welcoming smile. Teri was an avid crafter; there wasn’t much she couldn’t master. She enjoyed sewing, alterations, embroidering, quilting, crocheting, and pastel chalk art and portraits. She completed many works of art, also crocheted blankets and quilts for her future great grandchildren.

She is survived by her three loving children, Tony Carlisle (Sherri) of Big Sandy, TN, Brenda Carlisle of Ohio and Rita DeSouza (Tim) of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Michael Hazel of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Steve, Dennis, James, Tina, Michael, Alyssa, Nicholas and Zachary; and four great grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews including, David and Sharon Roman.

Theresa was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Roman.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL, where she will be reunited with her husband of 13 years, John Robert Eck.
