Thomas “Lanny” Lindner

October 8, 1935 - January 20, 2019

Thomas Landon was born in Stamford, Connecticut to Ruth (Bradbury) and Gordon Lindner. At Nyack Missionary College he met and married Marilee (Strayhorn) in 1958. He graduated cum laude from Wheaton College in Illinois. He worked for Scott Foresman in Chicago, taught at the Alan B. Shepard Jr. High School, worked for Tyndale Publishers, and became a realtor. The Lindners were active in the Wheaton Bible Church, the Northbrook Evangelical Covenant Church, and Faith Evangelical Covenant Church during their years in the Chicago area. After the couple moved to Ft Myers, Tom, or Lanny, continued to work in commercial real estate. He was able to teach and lead in various Bible Study groups, attending the Christ Community Church for close to 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilee; his daughter Deborah Stoep (Paul); his son David Landon (Susie); his grandchildren Benjamin, Joshua, Johanna, Emily, Anna, Justin, and Julia; his great-grandchildren Eli, Audrey, Jacob, Silas, Gracel, Calvin, Frankie, Waylon, and Paul. He was also survived by his stepmother Constance Lindner, his brother Gordon Lindner, his brother-in-law Dr. Robert Humphries, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Susan (Robert) Humphries and his niece Katherine (Lindner) Davis.

Throughout his life, Lanny was a true servant-leader, following in the footsteps of his Savior and Lord Jesus. In lieu of flowers, local mission support and cards of remembrance are welcome.

Services in Florida have already been held.
