Mom was such a caring person. She had helped me many times over and couldn’t have done it with out her. Rather it was helping me raise Spencer and Bailey or waking up every few hours to help Jen feed the twins. She has left behind a lasting impression on all her grandchildren and I see it in the caring person Stacia has; and still is becoming. You will be missed, but I know your spirit will be here with me. Love forever and always your Son Blair

Our hearts are broken with the passing of our dear sister-in-law Gwen. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Gwen had unending love for her husband, sons and grandchildren. She touched so many lives with her kindness and great personality. We cherish the times we had together with Gwen and those memories will live in our hearts forever. To Blair and Chris & your families you were so blessed to have a great Mom and Grandmother. Brad, what a wonderful 49 years you had together. Gwen was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Our arms are wrapped around you all with love and prayers during this most difficult time.

Just one of the “kids”, enjoying a day at the beach and making wonderful memories!!
Stac, Ave, & Carter can remember many fun trips to the beach with Grandma.

Mom was one of the most selfless people I know. She did everything for everyone else without asking for a thing. I have countless stories. One in particular stands out, though. She moved in with us for an extended stay after the twins were born. Carter was 3 lbs at birth and needed to pack on the pounds to get ready for open heart surgery. Mom slept on the couch and would wake him up every 3 hours to make sure he fed regularly.

Wow where do I start. Nothing I say will ever be enough to say about this truly unique and amazing woman. She was always smiling, full of joy and so grateful. Perfect loving demeanor. Gwen was like a sister and eventually through this process a daughter. She loved music and church. She loved to hold my hand and look at me with that smile. Always saying thank you for everything and anything. She loved hugs and was always telling me she loved me. We went on trips together, celebrated holidays, and spent everyday of every moment together ❤, from dinner to beach trips to music festivals and can’t leave out hair and nails. Girls day was a must. I know she is in a much better place right now. I try to fill that huge hole in my heart knowing she isn’t suffering anymore. She has clarity in her thoughts.

We were blessed to have such a giving, loving and caring Gwen come into our lives when Kate married her son, Chris. Sharing our grandchildren, Kelly first then Addie, gave us a special bond that was such a joy. Always ready to lend a hand or do whatever needed doing. Rest well,Gwen, and keep an eye on us all.

Sending love and sympathy to the Thompson family. I’m sorry that I never had a chance to meet Gwen, but my dear friend Brad embodies this quote from Gwen’s memorial: “Do what’s right, do what’s good, do it with kindness and help others”, so I can imagine how wonderful a person Gwen was, and her loss must be heartbreaking.

What more can be said about Gwen that hasn’t already been said in previous comments.
She was indeed a remarkable lady and my best friend for many years. Our children were very close in their toddler years and we babysat for each other many times.
It was so sad when Brad and Gwen and the boys moved away from us.
I like to think Gwen and Mark are sitting together now laughing and remembering the many good times we had. (Especially the Rider games.)
My deepest condolences to you Brad, Blair and Chris and your families.
Gwen will be truly missed, always loved and forever remembered.
    Love to you all.

As our kids were growing up we had the fortune of spending countless hockey trips with Gwen. There was no gentler soul watching our kids compete and no one cheering louder for them than Gwen.

We loved her and will always cherish her memory!

    Brad and Family
Gwen was an amazing wife (Brad even if she was your second lol). Mother and grandmother. She would talk about her boys and their families. Being an advent hockey Mom made all our games enjoyable. Our trips were always something to look forward to never knew what was going happen. So many stories that will live in our hearts forever.
    So sorry for your loss.
Love and Hugs Ken and Becky

    Brad and Family,
Although I did not get to know Gwen personally it’s obvious from family and posted comments that she was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend to all in her life. That must make your hearts swell with pride and thankfulness that she was an integral part of your lives. To top it all off – she was a Toronto Maple Leaf Fan!
The loss of such a remarkable person is painful for all and especially the family.
My deepest sympathy and “may the God of all comfort and tender mercies” comfort all of you at this most difficult time.

To the Thompson family we are very truly sorry for your loss. Mrs. Thompson was always one of our biggest hockey supporters and a genuinely happy person. It has been many years but we all still have many memories of our hockey trips together. We hope you all find peace in these very trying times. Looking at all of the happy pictures filled with memories and smiles seem very appropriate.
