Nancy “Gigi, Nanny, Mom” Kirby (Swan)
Nancy “Gigi, Nanny, Mom” Kirby (Swan) passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 in Punta Gorda, Florida at the age of 87.
She was born on February 25, 1937 and lived her life in Smithfield, RI. A dedicated educator, Nancy touched the lives of many as she nurtured young minds in her private kindergarten. Her passion for teaching was matched only by her love for camping adventures and moments at the beach.
Above all, Nancy treasured her four great grandchildren, for whom she held an immeasurable love. Her devotion to family was evident in her 65-year marriage to her husband, Colin Kirby whom she passed beside peacefully, at her daughter’s home in Florida.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Colin Kirby; her son; Paul Kirby and his wife Barbara, her daughter, Karen Lowe and her partner, Mark West; her three grandchildren, Amanda Graber and her husband, Eric, Bryan Lowe and his partner, Danielle Martin, Gregory Lowe and his wife, Aimee; and her four great grandchildren, Avery and Annabelle Graber and Crosby and Norah Lowe.

Karen I’m so sorry for the passing of your wonderful mother! She thought the world of you and you thought the world of her as well. There are no words for your loss. I know that you , your dad, brother and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved her dearly and took such good care of her.

Dear Family, so sorry for your loss. I worked with Nancy many decades ago in the education field and learned many tools to use in my career. Nancy also recommended what brand of pop up camper to buy for our family. Again my sympathy in this time of sadness.
