Patricia Byrle Terrill

August 10, 1928 - June 7, 2022

Patricia Byrle Terrill died of natural causes in her home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the age of 93. Born in Portland Oregon, she was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ruth Tabor and her beloved husband of 72 years Arnett Melvin Terrill.

She is survived by her sister, Dee Free of Sutherlin, Oregon and by six children, Kathy and Chuck Young of Estero, Florida, Mike and Laura Terrill of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joy and Ralph Guenzler of Fort Myers Florida, Chuck and Mary Jane Terrill of St. Louis Missouri, Darlene and Steve Kennedy of Cape Coral, Florida, and Dennis and Kaaren Chinello Terrill of Rohnert Park, California, 10 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Patricia grew up in Hickman Mills, Missouri. She attended college at Culver Stockton in Canton Missouri. Patricia’s faith and her belief in Christ guided her life. She was an active member of the Cuba First Baptist Church for many years and later attended McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers.

She lived in Cuba, MO with her husband and they enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and animals. She was a selfless homemaker and raised six children instilling in them the values of hard work, kindness, honesty, faith, and love. She later moved with her husband and youngest children to St. Louis. Missouri. After Arnett’s retirement, they traveled and lived in their RV for several months before settling in Fort Myers where they resided for 20 years. Patricia enjoyed many things: the beach, looking for shells, making shell pots, and exploring Florida. She was a talented artist and pianist. She enjoyed ceramics and family members have treasured pieces that she created. She stayed active playing cards and other games, coloring intricate images and cards, completing challenging jigsaw puzzles, reading, and playing music. Many of her family members suffered constant defeat when challenged to a game of Yahtzee. She also enjoyed Cardinal Baseball and declared her favorite player to be Yadier Molina.

Patricia and her husband moved to Cape Coral to live with her daughter Darlene and son-in-law Steve as their health declined. COVID narrowed her world, and she enjoyed the companionship of all the dogs in her home. The thought of doing scratcher lottery tickets made her eyes sparkle and jokes of the day made her laugh. Patricia loved good food, enjoyed eating out and never lost her love of sweets. Key lime pie, Dr. Pepper, ice cream, and saltwater taffy were on her list of favorites. As Covid restrictions eased, Patricia began attending Choices in Living Adult Day Care in August 2021. There she enjoyed many activities and certainly the ice cream treats. She truly enjoyed being able to paint again. Her painting of an American flag was auctioned and resulted in an $800 donation for Alzheimer’s research. One more of her paintings will be auctioned this fall. Patricia will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She remembered all birthdays and many holidays with cards, some hand colored.

Special thanks to Senior Friendship and Health Hospice who provided additional care and support at her home until the day of her death.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, June 22 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N. E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL. Committal services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 23 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd. 72, Sarasota FL 34241.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Alzheimer’s Research, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor # 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
