Susan Ann Morton

November 28, 1959 - August 13, 2021

Susan Ann Morton, 61, a seasonal resident of Lee County, FL for six years, who considered her camp in Casco, ME home, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 in St. James City, FL. She was born November 28, 1959 in Portland, ME.

Susan was of the Catholic faith. She was an amazing ball of light & energy that you just could not help but gravitate toward. Her love for her family was unmatched & unmeasurable which is why her loss is felt so hard. She loved nothing more than to take a road trip to see her family. With all that she accomplished in her life, she still managed to leave us all with the greatest gift, a lifetime of memories and adventures.

Sue was happiest outdoors. She loved four wheeling, snowmobiling, dirt biking, corn hole and horseshoes. But nothing lit her up more than family boat rides at camp. Although everyone was warned to let her take you tubing at your own risk. Her crooked and mischievous smirk was always a good indicator you were about to get dumped at 30 mph. You could hear her laughing through the wake of the boat going up your nose, in your ears and a ten pound tube bouncing off your head.

Sue and her husband Larry loved traveling to Maine like renegades. Nothing could stop their all-night travel to get to their grandchildren. Jason, Landon, Gianna, Theo & Cookie please know that nothing in her life ever meant more to her than the title “Nana”.

“The goal isn’t to live forever; the goal is to create something that will.”

We love you. We miss you. All our love for eternity.

She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Larry Morton of Casco, ME; mother, Nan Lailer of Port Charlotte, FL; children, Elizabeth Scott (Dave Lemieux) of Windham, ME, Samantha Garnet (James) of North Attleboro, MA, Vanessa Koza (Brendan) of Ft. Collins, CO, Kristina Morton (RJ Sargent) of Wilmington, NC, and Ryan Morton of Harrison, ME; brothers, Robert Jensen (Janis) of Westbrook, ME, Richard Jensen (Julie) of Northport, FL, and David Jensen (Diana) of Gorham, ME; as well as grandchildren, Jason Scott, Landon Scott, Gianna Scott, Theo Garnet, and Brooklyn Koza.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jensen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Maine. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com.

Sue, you were the definition of a Mother. I’ve never met another person that gave their entire being to ensure that her Daughters and Grandchildren were happy and well taken care of, no matter what! You always made me feel like I was part of the family, and I thank you for that. Your legacy will carry on with the never ending stories you’ve left behind. I love you, Sue ❤️

When I think of Sue. What comes to mind is Loyalty. If you were part of her tribe, you could do no wrong. She loved Unconditionally and with everything she had. I consider myself lucky that I was part of her family.
David and I love you, Sue. Rest well, we expect you to scope out a great place for us. Until we meet again.

We have never had the privilege of meeting Susan but we do know her daughter Sam. And what we can say is there couldn’t be a more appropriate statement than “The goal isn’t to live forever; the goal is to create something that will.” Susan’s legacy lives on in her family and we’re happy to have met her through the legacy of her child. Cheers to her life and her legacy. Nick and Marjorie Kask.
